Importance of Reciting Darood

Hadees:

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Masood (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, "On the Day of Qiyamah, the closest to me from among the people will be those that have read the most amount of Durood".   [Tirmidhi]

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, "He who sends a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allah rewards him ten times and ten good deeds are recorded in his book of good deeds". [Tirmidhi]

It is related that Ibn Jurayj (raziAllahuanhu) said, "I heard Nafi' (raziAllahuanhu) say,

I heard Ibn 'Umar (raziAllahuanhu) say, "The Prophet (sallalahualaywasallam) forbade a man to make his brother get  up from his place and then to sit down in it." ' I asked Nafi', 'Jumu'a?' He said, "Both Jumu'a and other prayers.' " . [Bukhari]
