HIstory Of Colonel Amiruddin Sahib Hyderabad

Colonel Amiruddin Sahib RA the Amir of Canada, has died on (18th Sep 2012) at the age of 99 in Toronto (Innaa Lillahi Wa Innaa Ilayhi Rajioon). He converted over 5500 people to Islam and said he stopped counting to maintain his sincerity. He was a man of complete sincerity, a shining light in these dark times. For over 55 years of his life he traveled more than 72 countries, spending whatever he earned in his life in the path of Allah .He practice was to go in the path of Allah for about 8 months in a year and spends 4 months with his family.

Colonel Amiruddin Sahab RA born to a Scottish lady, Ella Allen later to become Halima Farid ud-Din, who converted to Islam when she was 16 years old after dreaming of the Kaaba. she married Nawab Farid ud-Din Khan a descendant of the prophet SAW two years later while he was in Scotland.

in 1967, Colonel Amiruddin Sahab RA was permitted to enter the lower inner sanctum behind the auspicious golden gate and visit the tomb of the Prophet SAW where he says, he heard the Prophet SAW reply to his salaam, which caused him to fall unconscious. He was also instrumental in bringing Shaykh Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah to Hyderabad, India.

He was initiated into the Naqshbandi tariqat by the Muhaddith of Deccan Syed Abdullah Shah Naqshbandi RA and also on the hands of Moulana Yusuf Kandhalvi RA. He moved on foot through jungles of Africa, in the heat of Arabia and the bitter cold of Europe to spread Islam. In one of his banyans he states; "It was the time when there was tension in south Africa between whites and blacks, jamat were not given permission to enter. Hazrat Moulana Yusuf RA asked Colonel Amiruddin Sahab RA " you are Colonel and u must find a way to enter into Africa". A plan was made, they walked the jungles of Africa for around 4000 km in the path of Allah and it took 7 months . Only two days had passed that police caught them and put the jamat in jail. People came to know that a jamat has come from India and were bringing meals to prison. The meals were so much that they were distributed in prison and many of the prisoners accepted Islam by seeing the atmosphere in jail and preaching's of the jamat.

Since Colonel sab was a white man they requested him to leave Africa but he replied "we want to meet our brothers here." He was then questioned by the leading officer for the reason of coming to Africa, he took out a pen and paper and the wrote six points of tabligh and said "we have come to learn this."

I request you pray surah ikhlas 3 times for Isale Sawab;

Abu Saed al-Kurri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to his Companions: 'Could any one of you not recite one third of the Quran in one night?' They found the idea too difficult and said: 'Who among us could do that, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Allahu'l-ahad, al- samad [i.e., Surah al-Ikhlas] is one third of the Quran.'" (Reported by Bukhari, 4628)

May Allah protect him from the punishment of the grave and give him Jannatul Firdaus. (AMEEN)

Mufti Mahmud Hasan Gangohi (1325 - 1417)

He was born in Jamadius Sani 1325 (1907) at Gangoh. He prosecuted his studies at Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur, and Darul Uloom Deoband. In 1351 he completed his study of Hadith in Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur, and there itself for nearly twenty years, he continued to render the services of fatwa-writing and teaching. Then, for nearly fourteen years, from 1371 to 1384, he graced the post of principal and fatwa-writing in Madrasah Jamiul Uloom, Kanpur, where there was a great impact of his knowledge and learning, abstinence and piety and saintliness upon the people.

In 1385 he was selected for the post of Mufti in the Darul Ifta of Darul Uloom Deoband. Besides fatwa-writing, he also taught the second volume of the Sahih Bukhari to the students. He has not produced any independent book but his important fatwas have were published in different journals. Now, his fatwas were collected and published in 20 volumes. The style of writing in the fatwas is concise.

Mufti Sahib received khilafah and 'permission' from Hadhrat Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariya. He was very unassuming and hospitable; a man of vast reading, a regular Zaakir¸ generous and august man. An important peculiarity of his is also this that whatever salary he received from Darul Uloom, he not only returned it to Darul Uloom every month but also used to add something to it from his own pocket.

During his presiding over the Darul Ifta, a big number of fatwas were issued from Darul Uloom. His Fatwas has been published in 20 volumes. In 1996, he went on a trip to South Africa, where he died in Johannesburg on 18th Rabius Sani, 1417 (2 Sep 1996) and was buried there.

Life History Maulana Mufti Nizamuddin (1328 - 1420)

He was born in 1328 (1910) at his native place, Ondra, Dist. Azamgarh. He received primary education in the local schools and then studied in Madrasah Ihyaul Uloom, Mubarakpur (Azamgarh). Thereafter, he studies up to the intermediate classes in Madrasah Azizia Bihar Sharif, and Madrasah A'liya, Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi. In the end he took admission in Darul Uloom Deoband, and completed the Daura Hadith in 1352.

At first he rendered teaching services in Madrasah Jamiul Uloom, Jiyanpur (Azamgarh) and in Gorakhpur, and then was appointed in Madrasah Darul Uloom Mau Nath Bhanjan as teacher and Mufti. In 1385, on the call of Darul Uloom Deoband, he came to Deoband and was entrusted with the post of Ifta.

He had got a good knack of fatwa-writing; his answers to the queries used to be detailed. On account of his jurisprudential ability he had been a member of Rabta Fiqh Islami. He had a good vision over jurisprudential principles and was well acquainted with the current atmosphere going on in the world. Therefore, his fatwas, especially those dealing with new issues and modern-day problems, used to be looked upon with respect and utmost trust by both; Islamic scholars as well as common Muslims. Most of his important fatwas were published in the journal Darul Uloom. Two volumes of his selected Fatwas have been published by Islamic Fiqah Acadmy, New Delhi. Besides, the remaining fatwas of him have been published by one his relatives in nearly five small volumes.

He had the honour of vowing allegiance to and receiving khilafat from Hazrat Shah Wasiullah (Rahmatullahi Alaih). Simplicity and dignity was conspicuous of his disposition. Mufti Nizamuddin passed away in Deoband, on 20 Ziqada, 1420 (26 February 2000) and was buried at Qasmi graveyard.

Mawlana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi And The Wali Allahi Tradition

0 comments | Read more...

Mawlana ‘Ubayd Allah Sindhi (may Allah shower His mercy upon him) writes:
‘‘Shaykh al-Islam Abu Mas‘ud Rashid Ahmad Gangohi is the son of Hidayat Allah Ansari. He was born in 1244 AH, and learnt from Mawlana Mamluk ‘Ali [Nanautwi],Mawlana ‘Abd al-Ghani [Dehlawi], Mawlana Ahmad Sa‘id [Dehlawi], and Mawlana Imdad Allah [Muhajir Makki] etc. I personally studied a large portion of Sunan Abi Dawud from him. Allah granted me immense benefit through it. It is the effect of Mawlana Rashid Ahmad’s company that I followed his maslak in such a way that I never even contemplated moving away from it. Through him, the Wali Allahi approach to fiqh and hadith became manifest to me, and through his blessings I became well versed in the fundamentals as well as advanced rational discourse in the sciences of fiqh, suluk & ma‘rifah, Arabic and the Qur’an & Sunnah. I found Mawlana Rashid Ahmad to be a well-versed imam and mujtahid of the Hanafi School. He conformed strictly to the school of thought of his teacher, Mawlana ‘Abd al-Ghani, and was as unshakeable as a mountain in this regard. He closely resembled Mawlana Muhammad Ishaq [Dehlawi][1] in the Wali Allahi maslak. I understood the reality of sunnah and bid’ahfrom his book, Barahin-e-Qati‘ah. He had authored this book in support of Shah Isma‘il Shahid’s work, Idah al-Haq. Mawlana Rashid Ahmad became the Imam of the Deobandi group after Amir Imdad Allah and Mawlana Qasim [Nanautwi][2]. In excess of three thousand shaykhs attained religious knowledge from him. His year of passing is 1323 AH.’’
Shah Wali Allah awr unki Siyasi Tehrik, p. 197 (Sindh Sagar Academy, 2008 ed. by Mawlana ‘Ubayd Allah Sindhi)

[1] Grandson and successor of Shah ‘Abd al-‘Aziz Dehlawi (may Allah shower His mercy upon him)

Title : Hazarat Ji Maulana Mohammed Ilyas Shab(RA)
Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) was born in 1885 (1302 Hijri), in Mewat (which was inhabited by Rajput tribes known as Meos. The area to the south of Delhi where the Meos have been settled from the olden days is called Mewat, a small town in the United Province of British India in a family of religious scholars. His childhood was spent in maternal grandfather's home in Kandhla, and with his father at Nizamuddin. In those days, the Kandhla family was the cradle of godliness and piety so much so that reports of the high religiosity nightly devotions and Zikr and Tilawat of its members, both male and female, would seem imaginary and fictitious to the faint-hearted men of our time. Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) received his early religious education at home like all other children in the family; then Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) began his education in the maktab, according to the family tradition, learnt the Quran by heart. The learning of the Quran was so common in the family, that in the one-and-a-half row of worshippers in the family ‏Masjid, there was not a single non Hafiz except the Muezzin and later went to the famous center of Islamic education in Deoband where he studied the Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh and other Islamic sciences under the early Deoband luminaries. After completing his education at Deoband, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) took up a teaching position at another famous Madarsah Mazaharul Uloom (مدرسۂ مظہرالعلوم) in Saharanpur (United Province of British India)

FAMILY:

Maulana Mohammad Ismail Meo (مولانا محمّد اسماعیل میو) the father of Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) died on Saturday 26th February, 1898 (5th Shawal 1315 Hijri) in Khajoor Wali Masjid at the Tiraha of Bahram in Delhi, he was very fond of the recitation of the Quran. He was very particular about some member of his family keeping vigil in the night. His second son, Maulana Yahya Meo مولانا يحی' میو, used to study till midnight, and, then the Maulana himself got up and Maulana Yahya went to bed and for the last part of the night, he woke up his eldest son, Maulana Mohammad Meoمولانا محمّد میو)). Bi Safia, the mother of Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو), had learnt the Quran by heart and attained great distinction in it. It was a regular practice with her to recite the whole of the Quran and additional ten Juze (part) every day during Ramadan. She, thus, completed the Quran and was so fluent in it that her household duties did not suffer on account of it. She, generally, kept herself engaged in some work while doing the recitation.

Marriage
The Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو) married the daughter of his maternal uncle, Maulana Rauful Hasans on Friday, October 17, 1912 (8th Zil'Hajja 1330 Hijri) was performed by Maulana Mohammad, and Maulana Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, Shah Abdur Rahim Raipuri an Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi, all the three of them, attended the ceremony. Maulana Thanwi's celebrated sermon, Fuwayid us Suhbat, was delivered on that occasion.

Hajj
Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Meo (مولانا محمّد الیاس میو), for first Hajj was sailed in August, 1914 (4th Shawal 1332 Hijri), and returned in February, 1915 (Rabi-ul-Awal 1333 Hijri) and performed second Hajj in 1926 ( 1334 Hijri).

Mufti Ebrahim Desai Shab (Daamat Barakaatuhum)

TASAWWUF:
Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai (damat barakatuhum) has the honor of being the khalifah of his Shaykh Mufti Mahmood-ul-Hasan Gangohi (rahmatullah alahyi), the late grand mufti of India & the most senior khalifa of Hazrat Shaykh Maulana Zakariya Kandhalwi (rahmatullah alahi). As part of his training in Tasawwuf, Mufti Saab (db) spent time in the Khanqah of Dabhel where he used to lead Qiyaam-ul-Layl during the last ten nights of Ramadan.
ALIM & IFTA COURSE:
As well as being a Hafiz of the Quran, Mufti Ebrahim Desai (db) has studied sacred Islamic knowledge in Dabhel for nine years: commencing from the Arabic Language and comprising Usool-e-Fiqh, Hanafi Fiqh, Logic, Usool-e-Hadith, Hadith, Usool-e-Tafseer, Tafseer. Having completed the Dars-e-Nizamiyyah he then studied the principles of issuing Fatwas for two years in Dabhel under Mufti Ahmad Khanpuri Saheb, a renowned and leading Scholar in India, and another year under the grand Mufti of India, Mufti Mahmoodul Hasan Saheb (RA) (compiler of Fataawa Mahmoodiya).
TEACHING:
Mufti Saab is currently a senior teacher at Darul Ulum Numaniyyah. In addition to his teaching duties, Mufti Saab has established a Dar ul Iftaa in Durban as well which along with the well-known AskImam site serves the needs of thousands of Muslims by providing them answers to their everyday questions.
Most recently Mufti Saab has been working on solving the practical investments needs of Muslims by providing them a halal avenue to invest through the Al Mabroor Buffalo and Al Mabroor Real Estate Projects. Alhamdulilah, these efforts have been put forward for the Muslim community without any consultation fees or any other sort of fees. Further details are available on the Dar ul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah site.
In addition to his continuing contributions to Fiqh and Hadith, offline and online, Mufti Saab holds a regular Dhikr Majlis in Durban and answers Islahi questions through Dar Al Mahmood as well. Alhamdulilah, it is through the blessings of Allah that Mufti Saab has contributed to all avenues of Islamic sciences.
PUBLICATIONS:
He has authored two fatwa books, Al Mahmood Vol. I & II, a book for Hadith students: Introduction to Hadith, and numerous articles on a wide spectrum of topics and issues relating to Islam.

DAWAH TRIPS:
Mufti Ebrahim Desai (db) also has been visiting the US & Canada for the past 10 years in an effort to educate and revive the Islamic spirit among the Muslims here.
OTHER:
Imam Muhammad ibn Hasan Al-Shaybani (rah) was asked why had had not compile a book on Zuhd (ascetism/piety). The Imam (rah) replied that he had: Kitaab ul Buyoo (The Book of Business Transactions) meaning that if a person were to make his business dealings Shariah Compliant, that would be an enormous act of Zuhd. This is even more relevant in our society where halal earnings have been given a very low priority. In the spirit of reviving concern for halal earnings and making Muslims aware that our earnings have a great effect on our Spirituality and Faith, Mufti Saab has hosted numerous workshops on making businesses Shariah Compliant. These workshops are held annually in South Africa, and were held this past Ramadan in the US.

LIFE SKETCH:
Mufti Mahmood ul Hasan Gangohi (rah) was the senior most khalifa of Hadrat Shaykh ul Hadith Maulana Zakariyyah Kandhalwi (rah). In addition he was the Head Mufti at Dar ul Uloom Deoband and Mazaahir ul Uloom for many years. Along with the responsibilites of Ifta (Fatwa writing) he taught the 2nd Volume of Sahih Bukhari at Dar ul Uloom Deoband, supervised the running of numerous madaris in India and also compiled Fataawa Mahmoodiyah, a copious reference book on Hanafi Fiqh rulings. A man of extreme piety and learning, he was not only a Faqih and a Sufi but also a Zaahid (ascetic). Every month not only would he return his salary to Dar ul Uloom Deoband, but also add something from his own pocket also.

BAYAT WITH SHAYKH UL HADITH MAULANA ZAKARIYYAH KANDHALWI (RAH):
Mufti Sahib gave bayat in 1349 A.H. to Shaykh ul Hadith Maulana Zakariyyah Kandhalwi (rah) while he was at Deoband. When he used to sit in the majlis of Hadrat Raipuri (rah) and Hadarat Dehlawi (rah), he used to become very inclined toward the Hereafter. However when Mufti Sahib (rah) used to sit in the majlis of Shaykh ul Hadith (rah), Mufti Sahib (rah) would be so affected, that his own sins and flaws would become manifest to him, as a result of which Mufti Sahib (rah) came to the conclusion that his Islaah (spiritual reformation) would take place only at the hands of Shaykh ul Hadith (rah). This was the first reason of Mufti Sahib (rah) in giving preference to Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) for bayat.

The second reason was that in terms of age, the youngest of the saints was Shaykh ul Hadith Maulana Zakariyyah Kandhalwi (rah). Mufti Sahib (rah) wanted to be in the khidmat and suhbat of his Shaykh for a long time. When he approached Shaykh ul Hadith Maulana Zakariyyah Kandhalwi (rah) he was told to give bayat to Shaykh Husayn Madani (rah). Mufti Sahib (rah) replied that "Hadrat, I have heard that if one gives bayat to the Shaykh he is inclined towards it results in a better focus and reformation for the disciple". For some months, Shaykh ul Hadith Maulana Zakariyyah Kandhalwi (rah) did not give bayat. Finally, he said if you are not inclined towards Hadrat Madani (rah) then do istikhaarah, if nothing becomes clear in istikhaarah, then travel to three places: Raipur, Nizamuddin, and Thanhbawan, sit in the majalis and dont say anything." Mufti Sahib (db) didnt go, so Shaykh ul Hadith then gave him bayat.

KHILAAFAT FROM SHAYKH UL HADITH (RAH):
In Gangoh there was a woman who had bayat with a Shaykh, when Mufti Sahib (rah) traveled to Gangoh, she came to him and said that "My Shaykh has passed away, please allow me to give bayat to you". Mufti Sahib (db) was quite surprised by this. While he and Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) were going to visit Maulana Thanvi (rah), Mufti Sahib (rah) narrated the incident, but had yet to finish when Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) said: "If she wants to give bayat to you, accept it". Mufti Sahib (rah) replied "Hadrat, How can I make someone my disciple?, My intention was that if there is a day when Hadrat Madani (rah) can visit here, so I can inform the woman, that he is coming and she can give bayat to him." Hadrat Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) replied: "Dont be shy...if you need to consult with me, just ask, this is my ijaazat (permission)".

Mufti Sahib (rah) did not take this to be an explicit ijaazat from Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) and went to Kanpur. Then Shaykh ul Hadith (rah) wrote him a letter stating: "I have no news if anyone has made bayat to you or not, if somebody wants to give bayat then give it to him". Mufti Sahib (rah) repied: "Hadrat, some people wanted to give bayat to me, however I advised them to approach other scholars. When somebody insisted repeatedly, then I told them 'I dont have ijaazat (permission) to give bayat'. Hadrat Shaykh (rah) replied: "Perhaps you dont remember that when we were going to visit Hadrat Thanvi (rah), I gave you ijaazat at that time, and any doubts you had I cleared them also". He wrote also "One should give advice to people to give bayat to someone else but when others insist then there is no harm in acceding to their request".

MUFTI MAHMOOD (RAH) IN THE VIEW OF DAR UL ULOOM DEOBAND:
"Mufti Sahib received khilafat and 'permission' from Hadhrat Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariya. His residence was always resonant with the 'remembrance' (zikr) of the 'remembrancers' (zakirin). He was very unassuming and hospitable; a man of vast reading, a regular 'rememberer of Allah' (Dhaakir), an 'occupied' (shaghil), large-hearted and generous august man. One is reminded of the ancient Ulema on seeing him. An important peculiarity of his is also this that whatever salary he received from Darul Uloom, he not only returned it to the Darul Uloom every month but also added something to it from his own pocket." (Extracted from Introduction to the Ulema of Deoband)

DEATH:
Mufti Mahmood-ul-Hasan (rah) passed away on the 19th of Rabiul Akhir, 1417 A.H. (Sept. 2, 1996). He was laid to rest in the Elsburg Cemetery near Johannesburg, South Africa.
